Quarter Highlights
Yogurtland led the November 2010 ranking, adding 30 locations and growing 39% during the reporting period. Frozen yogurt concepts were especially prominent, with Yogurtland, Red Mango, and Pinkberry holding the top three positions.
The list also shows continued expansion among barbecue, sandwich, pizza, juice, burger, and Mexican concepts. Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, Which Wich, Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop, Raising Cane’s, and Tijuana Flats Burrito Company were among the brands continuing to appear in RestaurantChains.net growth coverage during 2010.

This quarterly list of Top 20 Fastest Growing Concepts, focused on concepts that began the period with 50 to 200 units, displays trimester-to-trimester recent growth captured during the RestaurantChains.net re-verification process.
Information is derived and calculated from the continual process of interviewing and verifying more than 7,300 restaurant chain concepts.
Parameters Considered
- A restaurant chain or group with at least 50 units.
- A restaurant chain or group that began the period with fewer than 200 units.
- A restaurant chain or group that grew by at least 2 units.
- A restaurant chain or group that is a unique brand/concept, not a franchisee.
- A concept with growth within the United States or Canada.
- A restaurant chain or group with reliable information available regarding unit counts and activity.
Readers should know that unit counts and percentages are not annualized and relate to recent growth only. Companies on the list are chosen without opinion and are a result of academic research.
